At Financial Cents Coaching we call your initial meeting a Eureka Session. That’s because you will probably say, “Eureka! I’ve got it!” when we start talking about some of the small changes you can make right away to take the stress out of money.

Before you get to your first in-person (or web conference) coaching session, we send you some paperwork that we ask you to fill out. Once you’ve scheduled your Eureka session, we send you a “Welcome email”. The email outlines everything to have ready, what to expect, and includes the necessary worksheet(s) and questionnaire. The information gives us an idea of where you are financially in terms of income and expenses as well as what your goals are for the future. It also ensures we make the most of the 90-minutes we’re together.

Most of the Eureka participants will tell you that the first visit is eye-opening, motivating, and enlightening. The goal is to discover a few changes you can make right away to gain financial momentum.

In that initial meeting, we discuss the three things most important to you. This is the first step to creating a customized budget to meet your financial goals. My objective is not to get you to spend your money according to what I think is important, but to help you spend it on the things that will make you happy.

We’re going to be talking about money, which can be an extremely emotional topic. I am not here to judge you, your lifestyle, or your decisions about money. I am here to help you develop a plan that gets you from where you are today to where you want to be financially.

After the initial session, we will decide if we want to work together. It’s okay if you say no today and come back later or never. It’s okay to want to try and execute the changes we discuss on your own. In fact, I almost always encourage you to try! Money is a tough subject to talk about and I want you to be comfortable working with me.
